Does your dog pull during walks?

Scooby was adopted 22 days back from a family who couldn't keep him. Sneha took her in and gave her all the love and care.

He loves walks and his game of tug. He has a sweet temperament too. However, as happens with most adoptions in our country, no post adoption support or training or even a background into his quirky habits was provided. A week into the new home, he started displaying certain issues. that pointed towards a lack of impulse control and not knowing how to communicate himself in a better way.

The walks were getting hampered. On the first day, the first thing they choose to address was his MASSIVE pulling issues. Here, I first addressed it by giving him directions. Followed by, teaching him to follow the leash pressure. Once he got the hang of it, Sneha took over. Her dad understood and practiced with Scooby for a while ,too. He responded extremely well. All this basic foundation work happened in a span of 30 minutes!

The first day session with Sneha and her family gave her a preview of how it is going to be during walks,in coming days. Yes, he is far from being fully trained in loose leash walking but it was a really good start. It will take lots of repetitions before he makes it. Hope to keep everyone updated with his progress.

(Don't Loose Hope. Perfecting loose leash walk takes lot of it !)
