My name is Saptadeep Pal. I am the owner and the brainchild behind the emerging professional dog training & behavior rehabilitation service in Kolkata 'Hunde Squad K9s'. With generous support, within a very short span of 8 months, it has seen a steady rise in Kolkata's training scene with behavior modification/ rehabilitation being the USP.

I have always been fond of dogs since childhood. This love led me to quit my job with the IT sector and pursue internationally recognized trainer course with Sachin Rawte, one of the leading figures in Indian dog training as well as working dog championships abroad.

I strongly believe training scene in Kolkata can only grow when more people are aware about the need for empathy and emotional connect with their pets. Training is less about tools, and more to do with emotional connect- that is exactly where most dog trainers and owners FAIL. That leads to a robotic dog at hand and one that obeys command, minus motivation.


This is my attempt at reaching out and connecting with pet owners like you, across Kolkata and outside. To get to interact with you and discuss about common training and behavior problems, training tools, science behind training, upcoming events and everything under the sun related to pets.

Dog becoming possessive about owners

In the last few months, I have noticed that there is a growing trend of more pet parents coming forward with cases of aggression. Severe biting tendencies. No, don't get me wrong. All of them are well loved and well cared for dogs. But,when I ask them what are the triggers? They are usually clueless or just haven't found ANY specific contexts or situations where the dog bites. Most of them have bitten (actual bites resulting in blood loss) close family members, the owners themselves and guests. It could simply be during picking up a food fallen on the floor, while going to the bathroom, or random events.
